Collection: 2012
Summer temperatures were above average, with January some 2C above the long term average. There were 8 days over 30°C and two very hot days in late February where our thermometer registered 40°C. Autumn temperatures were average to slightly below average but the first week of April was particularly warm with temperatures up to 6°C above average.
Whilst our rainfall was slightly below average, our February rainfall was only half the monthly average, with March and April also below average, necessitating additional irrigation of the vines.
The Chardonnay was picked on 14 March for sparkling, the Riesling on 20 March and the Pinot on 30 March.
